Drew + Katelyn {Engagement} Topsail Beach, NC Family Photographer

I have known Drew since he was in diapers. It is hard to believe he is getting married. He and Katelyn met at NC State and I think family and friends can all say we fell in love with her from the moment we got to meet her! They are so sweet and fun and always smiling! I can't wait for my little girl to be their flower girl in March. I was thrilled when Katelyn asked me to do their engagement photos! This is part 1! Stay tuned this fall for part 2! Trulock Family {Downtown Durham} Durham, NC Family Photographer

Although I am limiting my family sessions when booking, I absolutely love doing them! It is always fun to get out and explore and meet new families! We originally had planned to do this session next week but something came up and we rescheduled. The weather was PERFECT and I'm pretty sure this family is as well! I did sweet baby Eliza's newborn pictures back in October. She and sister Haddie have grown so much in seven months!

I also think I should just post this blog post under WHAT TO WEAR. :)

Kinley S. {Newborn Session} 7 days new / Durham, NC Newborn Photographer

Sweet Kinley came to me for her newborn session. I was so excited to try out my new wooden backdrop! I traveled for my other two newborns last week, so Friday was a nice day to be setup and ready and try new things. I wont lie. I got nervous after having two pretty close to perfect newborns on Monday and Wednesday. I knew I was due a tough one. Boy was I wrong! Kinley barely opened her eyes once I got her to sleep on the beanbag. Dad even googled what kind of sound machine I was using because he wanted to buy it! She was a dream and possibly one of my favorite sessions to date. Mom brought some adorable props that included hats, blankets and books! I absolutely loved how their gallery turned out and hope they loved all of their images! 

I know many people have great lighting in their homes and I by no means have "the best." I do think it is nice to know what I have to work with and tend to think my sessions that come to me are often some of my better ones. I had three awesome sessions this week though, so all I can say is thank you to my amazing clients and I can't wait to get my hands on some more squishy little newborns!


As summer approaches and I see lots of baby bellies blooming, I want to share some exciting news! 

LSP is heading slightly in a new direction! At this time, I am strictly booking newborn sessions! I am so excited to take this step as my passion for newborns and the art of newborn photography has been able to expand.

No worries! I WILL still be booking mini sessions for families now and then! Stay tuned to my FB page for the dates and locations! I will also still book maternity and cake smashes as well as some other sessions in advance, but they will be LIMITED. Please don't hesitate to ask!

I only have space in June for one more newborn and it needs to be due within the first two weeks! I will be opening up LIMITED beach family sessions for the end of June and the month of July! August is filling up quickly as I already have 5 newborns on the books. (If we have spoken, I have you listed, but have only sent one contract at this time. Please be in touch if you are still planning to book that August newborn session!) 

Please please please do not wait until the last minute to get on my books for newborn sessions! These sessions are time sensitive and reallllllly need to be completed within the first ten days after birth. It is important that you are on my calendar well in advance so I have space open around your due date!

Thank you to EVERYONE who has made my love for photography blossom! I am having a blast snuggling little babies and I feel as if every session gets better and better!

Baby C {9 days new} Durham, NC Newborn Photographer

I had a blast meeting this sweet little man today! He was 9 days fresh and started out wide awake. It only took me about thirty minutes to get him nice and asleep and once I did, boy was he out! I'm scared to test my luck with a third newborn this week! We shall see what Friday brings! :) I hope you love these few sneak peeks from my session today!

Larissa Maternity {32 weeks} Durham, NC Maternity Photographer

We had to reschedule these photos several times because of the weather. I was afraid she was going to have the baby before we got to do them. Luckily I had a space open this evening and she rocked it!

Newborn Kate {5 days new!} Durham, NC Newborn Photographer

Oh sweet baby Kate. She was such a doll. She slept so well and let me pose her almost however I wanted to. I could have stayed and held her for hours, but I assumed her mommy and daddy probably wanted her back. ;)

Cake Smash {Kendall is ONE!} Durham, NC Children's Photographer

Kendall turned ONE today!  I feel like I took his newborn pictures yesterday! It is so fun seeing all of these babies grow and I am so fortunate to have such wonderful clients to keep coming back to me! This sweet family even surprised me with my favorite latte from my favorite local coffee shop! What a way to start off a session! :) We did this cake smash at my home, however if you have a well lit room you don't mind getting a tad messy or if the weather is nice, I can bring the color backdrop to you (just not the wooden one!)
